Jacobin Magazine

I periodically write for Jacobin Magazine on topics related to the history of the communist movement. Most recently, I have written an article on the history of the Black Book of Communism, on why many scholars consider it a historical forgery, and what its underlying methodological problems were, and how the intellectual millieu in which it appeared was formed during the Cold War through links of the CIA and the French far-right. The article is available here.

The second is an article on the development of Albania’s communist movement, from its beginnings in the liberal-democratic opposition in the 1920s to the transformation into a minor party which ended up organizing an effective anti-fascist resistance movement, and liberating Albania completely without the troops of other Allied countries. The article is accessible here.
